James will be playing  at  the famed Fifestock Festival on Sunday 13th of February at 7.30pm. As well as headlining his own dates he will be supporting jazz legend John Goldie

Born in Perth, Scotland in 1991 James got his first classical guitar when he was 9 years old. His decision to study the technical aspects of the guitar led him to undertake full classical training. He was an excellent student and quickly progressed to become a well respected player performing alone or with various school and amateur orchestras. The addition of acoustic and electric guitars came in 2004 .

James’s own style and repertoire has evolved to include jazz, pop, rock, folk and classical pieces. The first studio work appeared in 2007 with the “For Tomorrow” album. This included several instrumental tracks as well as the jazz influenced “Until tomorrow comes”. For Tomorrow was self produced with James adding percussion, piano and bass to his technical abilities.

2008 saw the recording of “Light September” whilst James was finishing his final year at school. Several tracks from Light September where played on local and national radio which brought James to the attention of Midlands based independent label Red Monster Records. In 2009 James moved to Edinburgh to start a degree at Edinburgh University and was signed to Red Monster Records with a view to releasing his first single in 2010.

During November 2009 James worked with the highly respected Iain McKinna of Offbeat Studios to produce his first single “Right next to you (These Days)” which was released to wide approval in April 2010.To support the singles release James played a number of solo concerts across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
